#4 Vayera Genesis 18:1-22:24

This portion begins with Abraham seeing God in a vision while he is sitting by his tent door after he is circumcised. Perhaps Abraham was committing his ways to God while he was dealing with the effects of his circumcision. We must all commit ourselves to God in our lives. We do not automatically become believers because our parents are believers. I commit myself to God every day, and sometimes I make a special commitment to God. God's feasts give us the opportunity to commit ourselves to God on a regular basis but anytime is a good time to do so. It is at these times we align ourselves with God and we decide to meet the creator God on His terms. Why not meet God on His terms? He is a good, caring, and just God. Deuteronomy 5:29 NKJV says, "Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!"
