1 BERESHIT GENESIS 1:1-6:8

The Bible does not necessarily disagree with science. It is not a book of facts, but it is from a loving God who wants to help us have a better life through His commandments. They are good commandments because they are from an all-knowing creator God who knows what is best for us and has our best interests at heart. I find several things interesting in the creation narrative. It says that God made the land appear above the water. Science says that if the land masses were not raised above the water that water would cover the whole earth. This agrees with the creation narrative. Because we have deep trenches in the oceans, land appears above the water.

I also find it interesting that science looks for planets that are not too hot or too cold and are much like our earth. They say these planets are more likely to have life on them. It just so happens that our earth somehow ended up in a place where life could exist.
